A-Rod attacked
by a hawk at
fenway?
PROGRESS REPORT:   So the final season of baseball in Yankee Stadium has begun.  The House That Ruth Built is about to
become the house that A-Rod destroys.  If Babe Ruth embodied everything good about the game, A-Rod is everything that is wrong with it.
On a side note, I could care less about the steroid issue, I really do not care if he did or did not, it does not matter.  The opt out scandal to
me proved everything I already believed, he is the epitome of a greedy selfish player who is not concerned about winning at all, but only for
personal gain.  The new ownership is greedy too, they saw a chance to sign a player they knew would bring people to the ball park, a new
shiny ball park they spent a lot of money on.  Instead of working hard at building a winning team to bring in the fans, they simply signed a
contract that ensures to do the same.  And while we here in New York watch A-Rod hit bombs all summer, it will be the fans in Boston and
Queens who watch their teams win in October.  A-Rod will not deliver the Yankees a World Series.  He has had so many chances.  He has
proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he is incapable of doing so.  For the next ten years this scandal ridden October choke artist will be
the face of the greatest franchise in professional sports.  That is so sad.

Jose still bashing A-Rod
List of grievances:
A little off season news about A-Rod: He's a slum lord.
2007 Regular Season - MVP all the way.  Regardless of how anyone feels about him there is no doubt that his numbers were
amazing and he was a big (maybe even biggest) reason the Yankees made it into October.  Between his yelling in Toronto
and the Strip Rod scandal he certainly wiped away some of his good guy image, which I think is good.  Maybe these
blemishes on his record made him stop caring about what everyone thinks of him and start concentrating on what he does
best, playing baseball.  There were a lot of times this year, when the pressure was on, that he didn't have that deer in
headlights look he so often does.  And what happened?  He hit big when it mattered.  The thing I disliked the most about this
season was how everything in the media was all about A-Rod.  They Yankees were always at there best when it was about
them, not just one guy.
2006 - Alex started strong in 2006, he even won player of the month for May, which just reinforces his nickname May-Rod.  The
rest of the season was average at best and plagued by slumps, errors, and ridicule from both media and fans.  And then there
was the post season.  The entire team struggled against the Tigers pitching, but the worst of them was A-Rod, going 1-14, .071
with no RBIs.  This was his third year as a Yankee.  His third time in the post season as a Yankee and his best shot at
redemption.  He had a chance (again) to silence his critics and prove to everyone he's more than just a guy who puts up
numbers when it doesn't count.  Once again, he failed to do that.
2005 - Regular season MVP.  Awesome performance following historic meltdown in 2004 ALCS.  Once again the Yankees were
well positioned going into October.  In the first round against the Angels, he crumbled.  His entire series was a disaster, all
but erasing any memories of his MVP regular season.  And then, with the series tied at two in Game 5 in Anaheim A-Rod was
given the ultimate shot at redemption.  The Angels were up 5-3 in the ninth inning.  Jeter got on and up came A-Rod with a
chance to tie game.  He hit into a double play.  Of all the things he could have done, that was the absolute worst.  Series over.
That's what $26 million a year gets you?  And his stats in that series; 2 for 15 with a .133 average.
2004 - A shaky start in New York.  He needed to get used to New York and a new
position.  Probably the most defining moment of the regular season was A-Rod getting
a glove smashed in his face (right).  His first season in New York started great.  Who
can forget the run he manufactured against the Twins that helped win the division
series?  That was brilliant.  The ALCS started great too and A-Rod put up some
awesome numbers.  And then came the collapse.  Alex went 2-17 in those final four
games and three years later his post season play still hasn't recovered.  The defining
moment of that ALCS, A-Rod slapping the ball out of Bronson Arroyos hand.
A-Rod makes $26 million a year.  A decent portion of that is paid for by Texas.  He still eats up a large
portion of the payroll that could go towards bringing in some good young pitching, something the
Yankees desperately need.
The one good thing I can say about A-Rod is that he has a great eye.  Under pressure he loves watching
the ball.  And I don't know about the stats but I'd be willing to bet he has more "under pressure" walks
than any other player in the league (excluding intentional walks).
Seattle  won 25 more games the year AFTER Rodriguez left the
team.  Texas won 18 more games the season after A-Rod departed.
 Coincidence?
When you're up by 10 you can always count on A-Rod to hit the
grand slam.  But when you're down by 1 he goes down watching.
I respect his numbers greatly but he truly has no heart.
I realize that he has made a considerable contribution during each of the two REGULAR seasons he was wearing pinstripes,
and I know many people have said he was big reason they made the playoffs.  However, the Yankees had no problem making
the playoffs for years before A-Rod arrived.  The big difference of course being that their post seasons seemed to last a little
bit longer.  All the blame does not fall on him but as the highest paid player in the league the fans deserve more....a lot more.
Pass this website along to everyone you know who is a Yankees fan.  Let's get the word out and lets get rid of A-Rod.  Trade
him at the deadline and bring in some player(s) who know how to win it when it counts.
Submit a comment or send an email to the link below and tell us about your favorite A-Rod moment or just share your
thoughts on the leagues most expensive player.   Keep it clean (most stories are so bad they don't need expletives) and I'll
put them up on the web page.
It's time the Yankees start winning in October again, and that's not going to happen while Alex Rodriguez is wearing
pinstripes.
